Purpose

The increasing need for face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning programs creates the need for instructional designers with the skills and knowledge to develop meaningful, effectual programs. This purpose of this site is to display the competencies I possess after completing the Education Specialist program from the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri.

Why MU?

The School of Information Science and Learning Technologies offers three concentrations in their Education Specialist program; online educator, learning systems design and development (LSDD) and technology in schools. The Learning Systems Design and Development program is an intensive study in the development of learning and training programs and includes the enhancement of competencies such as:

  • Cultivating the use of needs assessments, procedural and task analysis, and formative and summative assessments to design and develop meaningful learning programs and improve workplace performance;
  • Creating learning environments that promote learning;
  • Applying components of instructional systems design to organize quality, efficient training and education programs;
  • Producing learning system applications and materials.
